In order to beat the July 1st, 2007 price increase, I sent in my order in early June...although I really wanted to order the kit at Oshkosh so I could at least sit in one before purchasing. Oh well, with the stroke of a pen (and a little loan from the bank) a mightycheck was written and entrusted to the USPS for delivery. The kit is scheduled for shipment the week of August 29th, 2007 and I will be attending the Sept. workshop. I hope that there is no scheduling conflict!
I attended the September 2007 workshop in Oshkosh at the Sonex factory and was very impressed. My overall impression was
that it was a little heavy on the presentations, but the Monnett family was VERY nice and willing to answer any and all questions keeping them at work well into the evenings.
Furthermore, the information given was very useful especially to those who have never worked on an aircraft before. Even having worked on the RV, I am still glad that I went and I learned a lot. Just a little tip to those considering going...John Monnett does a section on tips and tricks that they have learned in building many of these, this is a critical section that goes by VERY fast. If I had to do this over again, I would have taken detailed notes on this section.
