Will Thanks for letting me sit in your bird. It looks pretty good. I'm still debating but I sure feel like I'm leaning in the Sonex direction. Let me know when you need a hand with the electronics and finishing. I will be available.

I liked reading through your log. Best of luck on the continued build. When do you expect it will be completed, or at least when are you shooting for?

Just back from Airventure 2010 and have settled on a Sonex for the same reasons you did. Ordering a tail kit soon. Great site, thanks for the postings. Hopefully I'll start my Sonex and site soon.

Hi Will, Just reviewed your entries on building the AeroVee and it sounds like it was a bit challenging but not too bad. I like the idea of actually building the engine and being able to overhaul it yourself. I am getting packed for Oshkosh and will be heading out there Friday with an overnight somewhere and arriving Sat. afternoon. I'd still like to come back for another visit sometime this fall perhaps. Maybe even stop by and see your Dad's progress on the Zenith 750. The garage is about 75% done and should be finished in a couple of months. Then, next year at Oshkosh I plan to order a Sonex. Such a great airplane! Thanks again for the time you spent letting us see your project. Your project looks great! Don Knowles

She's looking good Will. Well done with the canopy - getting it fitted without cracking is a feather in your cap. Keep at it, you're almost there. Jim Lewis Sonex 0988 AeroVee Tail Dragger

Will, I appreciate your thoughtful views and the realistic perspective you conveyed. I have just returned from Oshkosh 2009 and visited the Sonex booth several times as well as taking a tour of their facility on Sunday AM. It was very impressive and I think the Sonex may be the very best value available in a homebuilt kit. I am in the decision making phase and am considering the Sonex as my No. 1 choice at this time. I live in Morgantown, WV which is 150 to 200+ miles from your place depending on the route taken. I would like to visit and see your project some time if you are open to that. My email is Dknowlesjr2@aol.com and my cell phone is 304 290-0014. Thanks. Don Knowles

Hi Will: I visited your webpage today to look at the tinyurl you put up regarding slot-cutting. Then I went and looked at your empennage section as that is what I am working on right now. Always good to compare notes and pick up a few tips that you and other builders share with everyone. Thanks! And I like your good-looking helper too! Mine is very supportive but not too involved - at least at this point. I'll have to wait and see as my project progresses.

The flaps look great, Will. I just finished riveting the leading edge skin to my right wing and am working on the tip. Are you using the fiberglass tips? Keep up the good work. Dave

Hi Will. Thanks for posting all the great photos of your spar building process. Today, I deburred everything on my right spar. I plan to start riveting this weekend. I took your advice and purchased the Avery Tools back rivet set and the Sonex bucking bar. I enjoy keeping up with your progress. I especially liked the photo of you and your family "flying" on the garage floor. David Clay Temple, TX Sonex 1095 from scratch 'cause I'm poor
