Flight training
Well.......finally, I began flight training today. I am learning at Classic Air located in Peyton, CO. This is at Meadowlake Airport where I am building the 10. My instructor comes highly recommended by many and my initial impression of Jack Dhoughee is the same.
We took to the air today in an older Piper Cherokee 180. The heat was a factor and our density altitude was already 9300 feet at 9:30 am. We also had full fuel in the plane.
Jack is a very hands on instructor, which I appreciate because I learn quickly this way. We did all the pre-inspection in the heat and traveled down the taxiway to perform runup. Again, Jack had me do everything in the process, including take-off. My first time!!!
We spent the hour performing basic maneuvers with level flight and then ascending and descending turns.
All went well and this was a much better experience than my previous dealings with another FBO.
One hour.

Duration: 2 hours Oral; 1.6 hours Practical
Proposed C/C route: 00V, PUB, OEL
Oral:
The proposed C/C route begins with the instructor and student pilot originating from 00V to PUB, no baggage. At PUB, two passengers are added to the load at 170 pounds each with no baggage. All four passengers continue from PUB to OEL.
I elected to route the 00V to PUB leg over Schreiver AFB and through COS Class C Airspace. I estimated the True Airspeed to be 111 kts. Based on 75% power and high DA. Fuel burn would be approximately 9.2 gallons.
I created several W&B worksheets to show the
