Welcome
Welcome to my RV-7A homebuilt airplane construction log.

The project Started March 1, 2005 and went quickly for a year. Diane and I relocated to western NC, from PA, during which the construction went on 18 month hold. Construction activities renewed Jan 2008. The restart is a little light on photo's. I forgot how much you need to have the camera around to make a decent web page.

I continued to fly during the construction hiatus. This included trips and training for my IFR ticket. I passed my Instrument checkride in March of 2008. Yayysa!

Please feel free to browse through this site and, if you are a fellow builder, benefit from my experiences.

If you are new to experimental aviation, you may learn more about my particular aircraft, from the kit manufacturer, by choosing the "Project" link in the menu at the left. Details of my personal aircraft construction are contained in the menu list of aircraft components at the lower left.

If you see a place where I have deviated from Van's instructions, please do not consider it an "approved" change. These are experimental projects. Use what you see here at your own risk.

This link below will take you to a picture showing the "big pieces" out in the yard in July '06, right before moving.
It gives a good idea about how far we progressed in 15 months and 1155 man hrs
