2014-02-19 Continue to tweak stringers Installed sting lines and continued to align stringers. Adjusted lower left stringer and applied heat to form into place. Hopefully another hour or so and they will be fitted and ready for glue up!
2014-02-19 Section 15, Vertical Fin and Rudder, Rudder travel limit stop adjustment Set rudder travel limit stops. Measure 7" from vertical fin to forward tip of rudder, remove material from stop tubes until rudder tip is slightly less than 7" from vertical fin, repeat steps for other side.
2014-02-25 Section 16, Elevator Trim Installation Started to assemble the parts that make up the trim bungee assembly per Figure FS28.
2014-02-26 Section 12, Step 2, Heater duct and Heat Shield Scuff heat duct and heat shield, wipe clean with denatured alcohol. Layout and adhere foil faced heat shield/insulation to both heat duct and heat shield, trim to fit, remove all air bubbles while insuring material does not cover glue surface. Apply methacrylate to bonding surfaces and apply weight to hold pieces in place during the curing process.

2014-03-01 Section 7, Elevator Cable Fairlead Blocks As per Figure FS10, install the Delron blocks. Trim part number SC97002-006 as shown on Figure FS10. Apply Methacrylate and secure with bungee cords until cured. Verify that bottom stringer is still aligned with string line prior to methacrylate curing.
2014-03-01 Section 12, Step 7 Rudder Brake Pedal Install Finish by installing the lower heat shield and forward rudder pedal brace. Torqued fasteners and applied torque seal.
2014-03-01 Section 13, Attach Floorboard to Fuselage Install floorboard into fuselage. Enlarge holes as required. Trim floorboard to insure proper clearances. Floorboards in and out of fuselage 3 times to insure proper fitment. Once alignment was verified fasteners were installed and torqued to 24in-lbs. Verified with Mitch as to what hardware was required for forward center fastener on rear rudder pedals. Fastener should be AN3-5 Bolt with a TC9004-004 Washer.
2014-03-01 Section 13, Attach Floorboard to Fuselage Match drill rear floorboard mounting holes and enlarge are required. Locate and drill out forward seatbelt mounting holes by drilling from below #10 hole, then enlarging to #5 holes from above while insuring not to impact threads below, used backing plate. Photos 117-123.
2014-03-01 Section 13, Attach Floorboard to Fuselage Once floorboard is installed, mounted the remainder of the rear torque tube hardware. Making sure the forward torque tube rested on the forward bearing blocks and that the rear bearing blocks rested on the aft torque tube. Installed and torqued fasteners 40in-lbs on screws and 90in-lb on bolts, applied torque seal.
2014-03-01 Section 13, Attach Floorboard to Fuselage Once floorboard was secured, install rudder pedal springs as shown in Figure FS23 and photos 126-127. Torqued fasteners and applied torque seal.

2014-03-02 Section 2, Extended Baggage Door Assembly Partially assemble baggage door and frame. Check for proper fitment of door and frame. Install hinge per photo 16, and verify fitment of door and frame. Removed material on bottom of door to allow for hinge fitment. Match drill door holes and flush rivet in place per figure EX6. Match drill door frame and install screws per Figure EX6. check door fitment into fuselage.
2014-03-02 Section 2 Extended Baggage, Match Drilling Match drill all panels and install pull rivets.
2014-03-03 Section 7, Bonding The Extended Baggage Kit Once all hardware was installed. Fuselage and aluminum was scuffed and wiped down with denatured alcohol. Methacrylate was applied as per Photos 25-29.
2014-03-03 Section 10, Stringers Installation of all stingers, These had been laid out and fitted previously. Fuselage was scuffed at bonding location as was carbon fiber stringers at the mounting feet. Methacrylate was applied and stringers were installed and aligned to string lines and reference marks. Clamps were installed to hold stringers during bonding. Excess Methacrylate was removed via finger swipe. Installation per Figure FS12 and photos 52-65.
2014-03-03 Section ?, Extended Baggage Area Installation of extended baggage fuel line cover. I was not able to locate anything in the manual about this part but the installation location was self evident and once matched drilled it was secured with pull rivets.
2014-03-03 Section 14, Fuel System Mounted fuel valve into fuselage with supplied hardware per Figure FS8.
2014-03-06 Section 14, Fuel System Mount fuel selector valve on fuselage. Start rough in of fuel lines. Install line 1 from fuel valve to tee fitting, install line 2 from tee fitting rearward to 90. Then install line 3 from 90 to tee fitting and line 4 from tee to rear low point drain. Install line 5 from rear tee fitting to righthand rear fuel tank location. Line 6 from righthand forward tank location to tee fitting. Line 7 from fuel valve to gascolator location. Line 8 from fuel valve to tee fitting and line 9 from tee fitting to tee fitting. Line 10 from tee fitting to left hand forward tank location. Line 11 from tee fitting to left hand rear tank location and line 12 from tee fitting to forward low point drain.

Identify areas that will need reinforcement installed at mounting locations, install spiral wrap chafe protection. Tape exposed ends to prevent contamination.

Routing installation as per Figure FS24.

Remove fuel line from carburetor, open fuel shut of valve, monitor fuel flow on EI CGR-30P as well as time fuel flow rate. Fuel flow was max 34GPH on "both" and no less than 27GPH on "left" or "right". 4.5 Gal flowed in 8min 40sec total.
