Wing Tips

Landing Lights Part 1
I had originally mounted my landing lights inside my tips simply shining through oval shaped holes in the flat rear surface of the recess and my strobe/position lights directly to the longitunal surface. Not real pretty. So what's a little more work to make it nicer? This foto shows how I carved out the rear surface and molded a recess to flow smoothly back to the lights. I used Optilux 1500 halogen units (manufactured by Hella) available from many auto supply stores and online (google it up). I also made a recess for the strobe/position units to move them inboard a bit and get the strobe lense out of the landing light beam. You can also see the chunk of aluminum bonded to the inside of the tip that the landing light is mounted to.
