Drill and safety the hinge pins - Part 2
Received the safety wire twist tool and the coil of .032 stainless safety wire from Spruce.
Removed the temporary paper clip retainers and installed safety wire loops at each end of the elevator/stabilizer hinge and the trim tab hinge. Trimmed them to approximately 5/8" long. Two of them weren't wound tight enough, so I cut them out and reinstalled. Then I tucked them off to the side a bit away from probing fingers (future pre-flight safety!) while still ensuring full travel of the control surfaces without binding against the wires.
Next step in the tail feathers project is to fit up the fiberglas tips, which don't fit quite right out of the box...
