2008-02-01 Vertical tail parts recognition Vertical tail parts recognition according to plans. (Be sure to look for them in ALL boxes).

2008-02-08 Making of first parts / Fabricacion de las primeras partes We worked in the parts of the vertical stabilizer that needed to be done. We began with a piece called "angle". The manufacture was done in the CNC machine.

Se comenzo con las partes del estabilizador vertical que necesitaban fabricarse. Comenzamos con una pieza llamada angulo. La manufactura se realizo en la maquina CNC
2008-02-15 Cutting and making of parts We cutted the channel parts for making the ribs and the spars of the vertical stabilizer, and also cut some parts from an aluminum plate using a CNC router in order to, then, make the pilot holes in them.

Se cortaron los perfiles para hacer las costillas y las vigas en el estabilizador vertical y se cortaron partes de una placa de aluminio usando un ruteador CNC para posteriormente hacer los hoyos pilotos en ellas.

We continued to make some of the parts of the vertical stabilizer such as the channels used as ribs, and the clips that holds these ribs.

2008-02-29 Bending of parts
The channels and clips of the structure were bend as needed. During the bending procces, the clips were damaged, so they needed to be redone. We are almost ready to assembly the structure!

Los canales y clips de la estructura fueron doblados como se requeria. Durante el proceso de doblado, los clips fueron danados y tuvieron que ser rehechos. Ya casi estamos listos para ensamblar la estructura!
2008-03-07 Template for the structure We finished the final details of the parts for the vertical stabilizer. We finally made a sort of template for the structure in order to fit with the skin of the vertical empennage.

Terminamos los detalles finales de las partes para el estabilizador vertical. Finalmente hicimos una plantilla para la estructura a fin de que quedara adecuadamente con la piel del empenaje vertical.
2008-03-14 Putting the parts together The assembly of the vertical stabilizer began, putting the parts together and passing some of the pilot holes from the spars to the ribs.

El ensamble del estabilizador vertical comenzo, poniendo las partes juntas y pasando algunos de los barrenos pilotos desde las vigas hacia las costillas.
2008-03-28 Assembly We assemblied the rear spar and the front spar, but had some problems with the structure in general in order to fit with the pilot holes from the skin.

2008-04-04 Assembly We are still having some problems to fit perfectly the structure and the skin. We figured out that the rear spar had some of the pilot holes placed wrong, so we remade the rear spar channel.

Seguimos teniendo algunos problemas para ajustar perfectamente la estructura y la piel. Nos dimos cuenta que la viga trasera tenia algunos de los barrenos piloto mal posicionados, asi que rehicimos el canal de la viga trasera.
2008-04-04 Making of the first parts We began this week to recognize the parts for the horizontal stabilizer, and we cut the channels and angles needed for those. We began the making of the ribs for the horizontal stabilizer.

Comenzamos esta semana con el reconocimiento de las partes para el estabilizador horizontal, y se cortaron los canales y angulos necesarios para el mismo. Se comenzo con la manufactura de las costillas del estabilizador horizontal.
2008-04-11 Assembly With a wood template for the structure of the vertical stabilizer we are solving the problems we had with the assembly, we are almost done! Be sure to have a good template of the skin before beginning to put the structure together!

Con una plantilla de madera para la estructura del vertical estamos resolviendo los problemas que tuvimos con el ensamble, casi hemos terminado! Hay que tener una buena plantilla de la piel antes de comenzar a ensamblar la estrucutra!
2008-04-11 Making of parts We continued with the making of parts. We made some clips and the channels for the spars.

Continuamos con la fabricacion de partes. Hicimos algunos clips y los canales para las vigas.
2008-04-18 Structure done We have finally fit the structure perfectly with the skin. We will now began with all the holes for the rivets to complete the vertical stabilizer.

Finalmente hemos ajustado perfectamente la estructura con la piel. Ahora comenzaremos con todos los hoyos para los remaches para completar el estabilizador vertical.
2008-04-18 Making of parts We are almost done with the making of parts for the horizontal stabilizer. We finished the ribs, but the bending of the clips is still missing.

Casi hemos terminado con la fabricacion de partes para el estabilizador horizontal. Terminamos las costillas, pero el doblado de los clips aun falta.

2009-07-15 Horizontal stabilizer and Elevator assembly done This is the final assembly of the horizontal stabilizer and the elevator. We did the elevator once the horizontal stabilizer structure was done, to check if it fit, it fits very well and then we riveted the skins of the horizontal stabilizer and the hinges.

2016-05-31 Left aileron parts The left aileron parts. Counterweight assembly ready. The screw in the ribs is to keep them parallel in order to make the pilot holes in the skin and the ribs properly.
Las partes del alerón izquierdo. El ensamble del contrapeso con plomo está listo. El tornillo entre las costillas del contrapeso es para mantener las costillas paralelas para poder hacer los orificios piloto en la piel y costillas adecuadamente.
2016-07-30 Right Aileron parts ready Right aileron parts ready. The counterweight is ready and the screw between the ribs is temporary, to keep the ribs parallel and could make the pilot holes in the skin and the ribs properly. The bottom of the skin has holes to attach an aileron trim tab if necessary.
Las partes del alerón derecho listas. El contrapeso está listo y el tornillo entre las costillas es temporal y sirve para mantenerlas paralelas de modo que al hacer los orificios piloto en la piel y las costillas queden adecuadamente. En la parte de abajo de la piel van orificios para sujetar un compensador de alerón en caso necesario.

Todas las piezas de la estructura del ala izquierda se rebabearon, limpiaron y se les aplicó primario anticorrosivo. El ensamble está listo para remacharse.
