Vertical Stabilizer
Wow - that went quick! 2.5 hours
While waiting on a replacement pair of front spars, doubler, and right HS skin from Van's, I started working on the VS. I framed and match drilled the skeleton, then (mostly because the book said to do it this way) I clecoed on the skin and match drilled immediately without disassembling the frame for deburr first. Logically I can think of no reason NOT to do it this way, it certainly saves time to drill everything at once, and deburr all at once, if possible. It's now late and I'll wait to deburr.
My primer sprayer arrived today, I played with it for a bit, and built a dessicant chamber to ensure clean, dry air supply for it from my compressor. By the time my replacement parts come in I'll have quite a pile of parts ready for primer - I bought the 2-gallon AKZO kit with an expiration shelf life of late this summer, and I'm planning on getting the wings in by late June, so I should be able to use this for the empennage and all the wing material before expiration.
