Hi Greg. Nice site. I am flying a purchased RV-9A with a new O360 power bumped by Lycon. I love the performance as I am sure you will.

Hey Greg, I also live in the Midlands, only on a different continent! I'm in the Midlands of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. I'm about to start a RV9A in the new year and I'm sourcing and absorbing every bit of information I can find so "thank you" I really enjoy your style of writing and agree totally on the importance of a well stocked beer fridge - after all, one has to entice would be helpers to keep returning!! Greg, I stumbled on your site from VAF. I'm building a 9A with an IOX-340 and a glass panel so apparently my 9 will likely fall out of the sky, too. Given the tools we have to monitor the performance of both an engine and a plane there is no reason to exceed Vne and since the 340 weighs the same as a 320, it seemed like a logical choice to me. I saw the forum request for information for engine pre-oilers. All the responses that had them used accumulator types. I have a pump-type in my Cessna 180, with a Continental engine.
It's wonderful. On start-up I have oil pressure before hitting the start button. If I don't use it on shut-down, the prop stops like an axe into wood. If I do use it, the prop bounces back from the final compression stroke. From David Paule

Greg: I was wondering if you have any photos of your Dynon roll servo bracket installaton on your web site?. (I couldn't find any on your site.) I'm also buidling a 9a. I just recieved the generic push-pull kit for the roll servo from Dynon. However, I was surprised to find that they did not include any mounting brackets or plates. All I received was two rod end bearings, an alum. tube and a few bolts washers and three nuts.
Cheers,

nice work! I was too 'challenged to build, so bought a -9a. I have a ton of things that I can warn you about, if you'd like to call or e-mail.
sorry, not builders tips, which is probably what you'd prefer, but fair to say, I've spent enough time under the dash and the cowl to tell you what would make life easier 50 or 100 hours into it! :) From Perry Yaremchuk

Nice Log! I've been looking for someone using the "EperCraft" brand builder's log. Looks pretty good to me. I haven't started my log yet. Rob, the owner of ExperCraft is an Oshkosh camping buddy of mine so it would be best if I used his program. Although I see a lot of guys using the 'Kit Log' version. Good luck with the build. I'm in Amarillo and I'm just about at the same point as you. My 7A wing kit came in May too. There are a couple of RV builers and a few flying near by. Within 10 miles of my house I know of 3 project and three flying RV. I've got few years on you, I'll be 54 this year. I wish I could have started at your age. KEEP BUILDING. From Richard Caummisar

Stumbled on your website via your posts on DR's vansairforce.net.
I actually lived in Midland for 7 years although I've been in Dallas for the past 19 years. Can't beat the weather in the Petroplex (except for the spring!).
I'm considering building an RV and have pretty much narrowed my choice to the 9-A. Interested in your choice of engines so I'll be monitoring your progress.
