Center Fuselage

Rt Step and Baggage Floors
2.0 hours

Well, as I thought yesterday, I finished the right step in about an hour this morning. Now I know why there are "repeat offenders". The second RV you build goes much faster based on what you learned building the first one! The right step side plate fits very nicely against the fuselage skin and all its mounting holes are drilled. Just take your time when bending the plate to the curve of the fuselage.

I spent about an hour at lunch today getting started with the interior of the baggage compartment. I peeled some blue plastic off the floor covers and got them cleco'ed in to position in preparation for match drilling, dimpling and edge smoothing. I also located the nylon/teflon blocks that are the wear surfaces for where the shoulder harness cables penetrate the rear baggage compartment bulkhead and the .040 aluminum that is cut in to the square washers.

No work on the plane after leaving the office this evening. It's Valentines Day and time spent with the loved one is a good investment toward many more hassle free hours of rivet banging!
